Susan Jeffers wrote the classic book, Feel the fear and do it anyway.
For me, the nugget of the book was discovering my biggest fear:
- Loss of job? Nope
- Loss of a loved one? Nope
- A terminal illness? Nope
- Death? Nope.
It is, I won’t be able to handle it.
“But, those things are big issues!” I hear you protest, just like I did. Think about it. What can’t you handle? Nothing, even death! We always handle it! And what we are currently going through we will ‘handle’ too.
Make a quick mental or actual list of all the things you don’t think you can handle?
Mine are:
- My Mum and Dad’s Death
- My family getting Corona Virus
- Me getting Corona Virus
- Not being able to make money
- Not being able to get at my pension.
The list goes on and on, doesn’t it?
Now look at those things that have happened – this is a bit harder – and try and remember how you felt before they happened?
Mine are:
- The world goes into a very real risk of a pandemic, killing many
- No socialising
- No sport
- No running in the hills
- Income drying up
Just look how we ARE handling it!
Shout if you need help.
