I was driving down the hill from Ou Kaapse Weg to Tokai when I saw him. He was standing at the robots, a homeless man. I couldn’t remember his name, but I remembered him and he instantly remembered me.
“Wow,” I thought. “I must be one of many motorists.” He had my name. His name is Jean-Claude.
I wanted to acknowledge him and thank him for the gift that he gave me the other day.
“What had you been here?” I asked. “What incident happened?”
“Life choices, man,” he said. “Life choices.”
No victim, no complaint. Just his choices.
Jean-Claude’s words are a reminder that we are all responsible for our own lives and that we have the power to choose our own path. It is easy to blame our circumstances on others or to make excuses for our failures. But the truth is, we always have a choice. We can choose to be positive or negative. We can choose to be proactive or reactive. We can choose to give up or to keep going.
Remember, you have the power to choose your own path. Choose wisely.
Mojestically yours!
